Dhan Gurung - Managing Director
Dhan was the first retired British Army Gurkha to have been elected to UK public office. He became a Folkestone Town Councillor in 2007, and has active roles with Age Concern, the Royal British Legion, local primary schools and community work.
Dhan served in the British Army for 18 years, including operation depolyment in Hong Kong, Australia, Bosnia, Sierra Leone, Canada, USA, Belize, Brunei, UK and Afghanistan. He has been awarded the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal, the Queen's Jubilee Medal, United Nations Medal (Bosnia) and the Humanitarian Conflict Medal (Sierra Leone).
Dhan Gurung was a key organiser in the "Gurkha Justice" campaign for UK settlement rights for all retired Gurkha soldiers. He then led a triumphal "Ayo Gurkhali" visit to Nepal by Joanna Lumley and 36 supporters and worldwide media.
Dhan Gurung was presented with the Kent County Council's BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) Achievement Award 2009.
Milanchandra Gurung - Chief Co-ordinator
Milanchandra served for 32 years in the British Army. He joined in Malaya and trained as a Royal Engineers Field Surveyor, before becoming a Field Troop Officer responsible for some 30 tradesmen in construction projects and military combat engineering. He was appointed Regimental Quartermaster responsible for management and maintenance of camps with some 1,500 soldiers and families and awarded Queens Commendation in 1971 and the MBE in 1996.
During his service he served in Belize, Belgium, Borneo, Brunei, Canada, Falkland Islands, Fiji, Germany, Hong Kong, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, Solomon Islands, Singapore, South Korea and the UK.
Milanchandra then joined The Gurkha Reserve Unit, a security force for guarding sensitive locations for the Sultan of Brunei. First employed as Logistics Officer followed by the post of Commanding Officer of Support Troops, supporting two Guard Battalions consisting of some 1,200.
Having moved to Britain in 2007 he acted as an assistant facilities manager in London for a year, and has since has spent time in UK and Nepal, helping carrying out projects for schools in Nepal.
Om Chhetri - Operations Manager
Om is a former soldier with 8 years Gurkha service and 22 years British Army service. He retired as a Warrant Officer after 30 years total service in Operational theatres including Borneo, Northern Ireland and the First Gulf War. Since then, he has worked for Kent Police HQ as Comms Assistant, and more recently, he has been employed by Supply Direct Ltd as an Area / Operations Manager. He has extensive knowledge of the Security Industry, having worked for G4 Security and MASS (Maritime Aviation Security Services).
Om is a Volunteer Advocate for CROP (Citizens Right for Older People), holds daily surgeries to assist Nepalese people, young, old, serving and retired in matters including Social Security, Housing benefits, immigration and helping people to settle into the local community.
